Shooting and crash on I-440 westbound near Capital Boulevard in Raleigh leaves two persons injured

As of now, the police have no information regarding the suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police in Raleigh have reported that two individuals sustained injuries as a result of a shooting incident.

The authorities have established a connection between the shooting and a car crash that occurred on I-440 westbound near Capital Boulevard.

The shooting incident took place at approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday in the vicinity of Wake Forest Road and Hodges Street, as per the police.

According to an eyewitness account, a person heard gunshots and tires screeching just prior to 6 a.m. One of the victims was seriously injured, while the other’s injuries were not life-threatening; both were transported to the hospital.

As of now, the police have no information regarding the suspect, and the investigation remains ongoing.

The police requested drivers to find alternative routes due to the closure of Wake Forest Road at Hodges Road and Paula Road.
