At approximately 11:30 o’clock on the evening of August 31st, emergency crews from the fire department, emergency medical services, and the police arrived at the Eagle Trace Apartments located at 2001 Torch Hill Road, where they discovered three men suffering from gunshot wounds.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the site, while emergency medical professionals were able to transport two of the wounded to the emergency department at Piedmont Columbus Regional.
Buddy Bryan, the coroner for Muscogee County, stated that a death was subsequently determined to have occurred with one of the individuals who had been transferred to Piedmont hospital. The injuries sustained by the second victim, who was also taken to the hospital, were not considered to be life-threatening.
