8 people injured in a shooting at a rave in Tacoma, Washington

Eight shooting victims were identified early Sunday morning after a large crowd was attending a rave on South Tacoma Way, according to Tacoma Police.

Tacoma police say that at least eight individuals were injured in a shooting during an early-morning rave party in Tacoma, Washington.

At 12:45 a.m. officers responded to multiple calls about shots being fired in the South Tacoma neighborhood. When they arrived, they discovered “a chaotic scene with a large crowd and multiple shooting victims,” according to a news release issued by the police.

The victims received medical treatment from first responders at the location of the incident. The eight patients who were sent to area hospitals are all stated to be in stable condition, according to the police.

According to the statements made by the police, “this event appears to have started with a huge crowd that was attending a rave that was being hosted by a private facility.” It was said that a fight broke out in the alley behind the location, and shots were fired as a result.

According to the notice from the police department, the investigation is still ongoing. The police did not comment on whether or not they had identified a suspect or whether or not they had taken someone into custody.
