Shooting reported at Amazon warehouse parking lot in Matteson

Amazon warehouse shooting in Matteson, Illinois, sees gunfire erupt in parking lot before gunman flees

On Tuesday morning in the city of Matteson, there were gunshots heard in the parking area of an Amazon Fulfillment Center.

At approximately 11:20 a.m., an Amazon employee was targeted with gunfire in the parking lot located at 7001 Vollmer Road in Matteson, according to the local authorities.

When police arrived at the scene, the alleged gunman and the victim had both left, according to Matteson Chief of Police Michael Jones, who stated the argument occurred in the front parking lot.

The gunfire struck a vehicle, but according to the officials, no one was hurt in the incident. Along one row of the parking lot, there were at least six evidence markers that could be found dispersed about.

Police believe the gunshot was “targeted,” according to a Matteson spokeswoman.

The man responsible for the shooting is currently being sought by the police. The FOX3 News team has contacted Amazon for a comment on the matter.

About 30 miles to the south of Chicago is where you’ll find Matteson.
