Shooting at Quality Inn & Suites leaves two people injured, suspect in custody
Two people were hospitalized after a shooting at an Ames hotel Saturday morning.

The Ames Police Department is conducting an investigation into a shooting that took place at a nearby hotel and resulted in injuries.
A news statement stated that police arrived to the Quality Inn & Suites at 2601 E. 13th St. at approximately 11:26 a.m. on Saturday, where they found two victims who are currently “being treated at surrounding hospitals.”
The details of their conditions were not made public.
According to the announcement, the Ames Police Department has taken into custody one suspect and is continuing their investigation into the event.
“It would not appear that there is a continuing danger to the general population.”
