Sir Tom Jones treated by doctors after collapsing in Budapest

Sir Tom Jones has been forced to postpone a concert in Budapest after ‘being taken ill’, according to reports. The legendary Welsh singer, who celebrated his 82nd birthday last month, was reportedly taken ill ahead of the latest European date on his Surrounded by Time tour on Tuesday, July 12.

After ‘collapsing’ at the MVM Dome in the Hungarian capital, Sir Tom Jones was required to postpone a concert that was scheduled to take place in Budapest on Tuesday evening.

The iconic singer, who is 82 years old, fell ill shortly before the most recent European date of his Surrounded by Time tour, and according to reports, his physicians advised him to call off the performance.

According to the source, he fainted out almost an hour before he was scheduled to perform, but it was thought that he would be able to carry on with the event nevertheless.

According to stagehand Péter Kovács, Sir Tom was compelled to call off the performance because he had received orders from private physicians to do so only minutes before he was scheduled to take the stage.

According to a notice from the venue that was afterwards translated into English, the following was added: “Unfortunately on physicians’ advice, Tom Jones regrets that he is unable to perform at the MVM Dome this evening.”

It has been decided that the concert will take place on Tuesday, August 16th, 2022. There will be no change to the validity of any tickets for the new date.

“Sir Tom wishes to extend his most apologies for the trouble this may have caused, but he is looking forward to playing for you in August.”

Reports from the local news outlets state that the National Ambulance Service claimed they did not receive a call to respond to the event.

According to a report from the Hungarian news outlet Index, a representative for the Surrounded by Time tour acknowledged that Tom had become ill during the tour.

On Sir Tom’s website, there is a new tour date set for August 16 at the MVM Dome in Budapest.
