Six people dead in Tate County after a series of shootings in the Arkabutla community

On Friday, a string of shootings occurred in the Arkabutla community of Tate County, resulting in the deaths of six individuals.
Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance confirmed that all of the shootings took place in the same community.
The initial shooting occurred outside a store on Arkabutla Road at approximately 11 a.m., which resulted in the death of a man.
A woman was also fatally shot inside a home on Bend Road. Additionally, a man sustained injuries that appeared to be from being struck by an object.
Law enforcement officers identified the suspect in a vehicle on Arkabutla Dam Road and apprehended them without any complications.
The authorities have not released the identity of the suspect. Subsequently, four additional individuals who had been killed were discovered by the deputies.
Among them, two were found inside a residence, while the remaining two were found outdoors on Arkabutla Dam Road, located in close proximity to the suspect’s residence.
The individual responsible for these crimes has not been named yet, but it is anticipated that they will be facing charges in the near future.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has been called upon to support the inquiry.
