South African Rapper and Dancer Constantinos Tsobanoglou also known as Costa Titch dies after collapsing on stage during Jozi Ultra Fest

Costa Titch, a South African rapper whose real name was Constantinos Tsobanoglou, passed away in the hospital after reportedly losing consciousness during his performance at the Ultra Music Festival.

Prior to his successful career as a rapper, Costa started out as a backup dancer.

He gained recognition after breaking into the music industry in 2020 and went on to win several awards.

Recently, he signed to rapper Akon’s record label Konvict Kulture. Costa was known for his popular songs such as “Activate” and “Nkalakatha”.

The news of his untimely death has sparked an outpouring of tributes from fans and fellow artists.

In footage from his performance at the Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg, Costa can be seen stumbling during a song before finishing it and then collapsing on stage.

Security and crew members rushed to his aid as the clip ended.

Costa had aspirations of achieving international success and will be deeply missed.

In a statement shared on social media, Costa Titch’s family confirmed his passing and expressed gratitude for the support of his fans.

“Death has tragically robbed us of our beloved son, brother, and grandson,” they said, adding that they are struggling to come to terms with his loss and asking for privacy during this difficult time.

The family also thanked those who have shown love and support for Costa and encouraged them to continue to remember him fondly.

The Southern African Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO) also expressed sadness over Costa’s passing on Twitter and offered condolences to his family and the wider music industry. Rapper Da L.E.S. also paid tribute to Costa, lamenting the loss of a talented artist who was taken too soon.

During a recent interview, Costa expressed his enthusiasm about his future following his signing with Konvict Kulture.

He explained, “After the success of my 2022 catalogue, we believed it was time to collaborate with a global entity so that we can keep pushing boundaries on an international level.”
