South African rapper Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, also known as AKA, is reported to have been fatally shot on Florida Road in Morningside, Durban.
Florida Road in Morningside is known for its string of bars and restaurants.
The incident is reported to have happened in front of YUGO nightclub located in Stamford Hill in Durban (South Africa).
The Police in Durban have confirmed that AKA was shot and killed with his friend, while another person believed to be his bodyguard was left wounded.
Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, professionally known as AKA, was a South African rapper who was born on January 28, 1988 and passed away on February 10, 2023.

He was raised in Cape Town and rose to fame with the release of his hit single “Victory Lap” from his debut studio album, “Altar Ego” in 2011.
Throughout his career, he released several successful studio albums, including “Levels” (2014), “Touch My Blood” (2018), “Bhovamania” (2020), and the collaborative album “Be Careful What You Wish For” with Anatii (2017).
In April 2020, Forbes partnered with Cruz vodka to launch a watermelon-flavored drink with his initial on the bottles.
He also made a special guest appearance at WWE Live events in Johannesburg and Cape Town. In 2019, Forbes was the subject of a Comedy Central Roast special. He was not considered a suspect in the death of Anele.
