FOX3 Now has learned that the injured officer has been a member of the South San Francisco Police Department for at least 15 years.
A South San Francisco motorcycle police officer sustained injuries when he was hit by a car in Redwood City Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the accident occurred near 5th Avenue and Bay Road.
She was in Redwood City to participate in a S.T.E.P. program, which involves cooperation among neighboring police agencies.
The woman is listed as in stable condition but sustained serious injuries.
Officials say she is expected to make a full recovery.
