Southwest Memphis area shooting leaves one MPD officer injured
An officer of the Memphis Police Department (MPD) was reportedly shot in Memphis, as stated by law enforcement sources who are close to the investigation.
An officer of the Memphis Police Department (MPD) was reportedly shot in Southwest Memphis, as stated by law enforcement sources who are close to the investigation.
It has been confirmed by FOX3 that the gunshot took place in the Southwest Memphis neighborhood.
The incident with the shooting took place near the intersection of Horn Lake Road and Radar Road.
The cop is currently receiving care at Regional One.
According to law enforcement authorities who are familiar with the investigation, one suspect has been taken into custody.
While authorities investigate the incident that occurred in the neighborhood, Geeter K-8 school has been placed in lockdown.
A precautionary lockdown has been implemented at Geeter K-8 School while law enforcement investigates a reported incident in the neighborhood.
