On Wednesday, Pine Bluff police apprehended a 21-year-old man in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred the previous night.
Kavon Bledsoe has been arrested by officials from the Pine Bluff Police Department in connection with the shooting, which resulted in the death of two individuals and the injury of two others.
Bledsoe has been charged with two counts of capital murder, two counts of first-degree battery, one count of tampering with evidence, and one count of a terroristic act.
According to reports, officers were summoned to Sunset Village Apartments at 2611 W. 34th Street on Tuesday evening just before 9:00 p.m. in response to gunfire.
Upon arriving at the parking lot, authorities discovered three people in a gray car: two females and a teenage boy, all of whom were wounded by gunshots.
The two victims in the back seat were pronounced dead at the scene, while the woman in the front seat was taken to a local hospital with an unknown condition.
Another man fled the scene but was later found with a gunshot wound nearby. The victim in the back seat was identified as 18-year-old Asharray Thomas from Pine Bluff, while the boy’s identity was not disclosed.
The Arkansas State Crime Laboratory will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of their deaths. Pine Bluff has now experienced its fifth and sixth homicides of the year.
While he is currently being held in the Jefferson County jail, detectives are still looking for at least three more suspects.
