Syracuse Police responded to shots fired at Destiny USA mall near Cinnabon

If you are at the mall, please shelter in place until updated.

Update: According to the Syracuse Police Department, the situation is not an active shooter scenario, despite the suspect fleeing the mall and remaining at large.

A spokesperson for Syracuse Police tells FOX3, there are no injuries after shooting at Destiny USA. The shooter left the mall so there is no longer an active threat. A bullet hit a trash can not far from the mall’s central tower, seen in photo.

Law enforcement officials are in the process of clearing out shoppers, and the mall will be shut down until further notice.

An investigation is underway by the Syracuse Police Department into a shooting incident that took place near Cinnabon at Destiny USA.

As a precautionary measure, mall visitors have been instructed to stay in a secure location.

Officers and detectives are currently on scene conducting an investigation.

As at the time of this report, there has been neither confirmation nor identification of any victims.

No suspects have been identified, and there has been no information immediately released regarding any arrests.

Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
