Four firefighters were injured, one seriously, battling a townhouse fire Thursday morning in Fairway Falls in Pike Creek.

At 11:45 in the morning, emergency personnel were sent to the 3200 block of Champions Drive.

Four firefighters were injured, one seriously, battling a townhouse fire Thursday morning in Fairway Falls in Pike Creek.
The fire was reported around 11:45 a.m. and arriving units had flames shooting from the second and third floors.
Around noon, the fire escalated to the second alarm level. There were reports of firefighters being stuck in the basement, which prompted a mayday call to be placed just after noon. All of the firefighters, on the other hand, have been located and accounted for. At approximately 12:10 in the afternoon, the third alarm was activated.
According to the authorities, three firemen from the Elsmere Fire Company and one firefighter from the Christiana Fire Company were sent to the Christiana Care Hospital for medical treatment.
The firefighter from Christiana sustained burns. The other Elsmere firefighter suffers an ankle injury, while one underwent treatment for breathing issues. According to officials, a fourth firefighter declined medical care.
One unit sustained a near total collapse and a second unit a partial collapse.
State fire marshal’s investigators are searching the debris for a cause.
No civilians were hurt.
