Three people arrested in shooting homicide of Peekskill resident Ricky Brickhouse

Peekskill detectives learned that Fernandez and Brickhouse were familiar with each other and this shooting was not a random incident.

On Sunday, January 29, 2023 at approximately 4:15 PM officers responded to 911 calls of shots fired on the 100 block of Spring St in the City of Peekskill.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 35-year-old Peekskill resident Ricky Brickhouse with an apparent gunshot wound to his back. Officers performed life saving measures on the victim and transported him to New York Presbyterian Hudson Valley Hospital in the back of a marked police vehicle. Three hours later, the victim succumbed to his wounds.

A potential suspect and associated vehicle were established early in the investigation. Suspect vehicle description was disseminated to Westchester County Dept of Public Safety’s Real Time Crime Center and within minutes, they reported the suspect vehicle was observed traveling south on the Sprain Brook Parkway. Following a pursuit, the suspect vehicle was stopped and three male occupants detained on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh. No injuries reported as a result of their apprehension.

Following a thorough investigation by Peekskill Police Department’s Detective Division, the three suspects are being charged as follows:

Arnold J Fernandez / 19 yoa / Peekskill resident

  • Charge: Murder 2nd Degree / Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree

Errick Lowe / 26 yoa / Cortlandt Manor resident

  • Charge: Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree

Omar Williams / 20 yoa / Peekskill resident

  • Charge: Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree

Peekskill detectives learned that Fernandez and Brickhouse were familiar with each other and this shooting was not a random incident.

All three defendants were arraigned on Tuesday, January 31, 2023 in Peekskill City Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail.
