Three people dead after a shooting in Paintsville, Suspect is in custody

According to the Johnson County Coroner’s office, three persons were killed in a shooting that took place early on Friday morning near Paintsville.

According to the Kentucky State Police, they were called to a house on Depot Road in response to a shooting that had taken place there. According to the Johnson County Sheriff, the initial report came in at 10:40, and the Paintsville Police Department responded to it before asking assistance from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police.

According to the KSP, upon arrival, they discovered three people who had died as a result of gunshot wounds.

The Johnson County Sheriff reports that the suspect was located and taken into custody at approximately noon. The suspect, who was shot during the arrest, was taken to the hospital with an injury that was not considered to be life-threatening, as stated by the sheriff.

According to KSP, a murder inquiry has been launched into this matter. At this time, no information regarding the victims or suspects has been made public.
