The 2007 PGA winner battled to make the cut on Friday at Southern Hills, then toiled in frigid conditions on Saturday to record his best PGA Championship score.

Tiger Woods battled hard to make the cut at the PGA Championship on Friday, summoning all of his powers to dig a pair of birdies out of the Southern Hills dirt to reach the weekend.

But once he got there, it proved to be too much.

Saturday morning was unusually cold, and Woods had a limp that seemed to get worse. He shot his highest score ever at the PGA Championship, a 79, which included a triple-bogey 6 on a par-3, five straight bogeys, and only one birdie.

Even though he broke 80, it was only a small victory because he stayed away from areas he’s only been to four times as a professional.

But Woods dropped out because he had to tee off early the next morning and it was going to be cold again. The PGA of America made the announcement early Saturday evening after the third round was over.
