Volodymyr Zelensky and “the spirit of Ukraine” were selected TIME’s Person of the Year for 2022 after Elon Musk was designated a finalist.

The president of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people are receiving praise for their bravery in the face of the Russian invasion.
Following the publication of a shortlist of candidates by Time magazine in search of the individual who has had the greatest impact on the news during the preceding calendar year, the news organization has now made its announcement.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, was one of the individuals considered for the honor this year as one of the finalists.
After a prosperous career as a comedian, Zelenskyy, now 44 years old, has held the office of president since 2019.
According to an article that was published in TIME by journalist Simon Shuster, “Zelenskyy’s success as a military leader has rested on the reality that heroism is contagious.”
“Within the first few days of the invasion, as everyone came to the realization that the President had remained in place, it swept throughout Ukraine’s political elite.”
