NYC man Travis Blake, 29, wanted for brutal triple murder is arrested in Maine a week after bodies of his girlfriend, her son and their family friend were found decomposing in Queens home

A week after the bodies were discovered rotting in a Queens house, a New York City man wanted for the gruesome triple murder of his girlfriend, her son, and their family friend has now been captured in Maine.
Yesterday, Travis Blake, 29, was taken into custody in Bar Harbor, Maine, which is approximately 500 miles away from the residence in Queens where his girlfriend, Karlene Barnett, resides.
On June 24, a relative called 911 and reported that Barnett, who was 55 years old, had been found dead in the basement of the residence.
After entering her residence in Queens, the police discovered that she had been stabbed many times.

Her son Dervon Brightly, who had just turned 36 years old, was found laying next to her, dead from an unidentified head injury.
A friend of the family named Vashawna Malcolm, who was 22 years old, was discovered laying face down on a bed inside the house.
It is unknown what caused her death, however the police have stated that there were obvious traces of trauma on her body.

After escaping the house, Blake made his way to Maine. On the video from the surveillance cameras, we can see him leaving the house.
Yesterday, he was arrested in Maine, and he is currently being brought back to New York to face the allegations that have been brought against him.
There is not yet a date set for the court hearing. It is not apparent what his motivation was.
According to the New York Daily News, he is a member of the armed forces; however, neither his current nor his historical service record has been discovered as of yet.
FOX3 was informed by a spokesman for the New York Police Department that he was now being brought back to New York from the state of Maine.
After that, he will be legally charged with the crime.
