Trinity Vogel shot and killed outside the Stoney Creek Hotel near Interstate 70 and Interstate 470

18-year-old Trinity L. Vogel of Kansas City, MO was shot and killed outside the Stoney Creek Inn on Saturday, January 7th.

After receiving reports of a shooting at approximately 11 a.m. on Saturday, law enforcement officers responded to the scene and located Vogel in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim in the homicide at 18011 E. Bass Pro Drive has been identified.

18-year-old Trinity L. Vogel of Kansas City, MO was shot and killed outside the Stoney Creek Inn on Saturday, January 7th.

A person of interest was taken into custody and has since been released pending further investigation.

This case remains under investigation.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Kansas City Art Institute. Trinity was born on March 22, 2004, in North Kansas City, MO to Kenneth C. and Melissa L. (Shaver) Vogel. Trinity had a love for her family and art. She was very talented at drawing, painting, and writing. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her parents, Kenneth and Melissa Vogel of Northmoor, Missouri; two sisters, Haley Vogel and Bailey Wall; two brothers, Tyler and Chandler Vogel, all of Northmoor, MO; paternal grandmother, Paula Gosney of Burlington, KS; maternal grandfather, Michael Shaver of Northmoor, MO; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

Trinity was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Charles Vogel and her maternal grandmother, Linda Reed.
