Tustin High School placed on lockdown after reports of weapon in student backpack

Earlier today, Tustin High administration contacted Tustin Police Department reference an anonyms ‘Text-to-Tip’ they received in regards to a student possibly in possession of a weapon in his backpack.

Earlier today, Tustin High administration contacted Tustin Police Department reference an anonyms ‘Text-to-Tip’ they received in regards to a student possibly in possession of a weapon in his backpack.

The administration at Tustin High School got in touch with Tustin Police Department earlier today in connection to an anonymous “Text-to-Tip” that they had received in regard to a kid who may have been in possession of a firearm in his backpack.

The school was immediately placed on a ‘Shelter in Place’.

Police had a significant response which led to a systematic search of the school.

Several students were named in the original tip and were each located by Tustin PD personnel.

Each student was interviewed and searched.

No weapon was located amongst the named students or anywhere on campus.

No arrests were made and school resumed normal operations just after 1:30pm.
