U-Haul truck stopped by police after hitting several people in NYC
On Monday in New York City, the police apprehended the driver of a U-Haul truck after it was reported that the vehicle hit multiple pedestrians.
The driver reportedly drove the truck onto the sidewalk in Brooklyn’s Bay Ridge neighborhood, causing injury to several individuals before fleeing the scene.
The truck was stopped by police near the entrance to a tunnel that connects Brooklyn and Manhattan. Currently, no further information is available.
The occurrence happened at the same time the trial for Sayfullo Saipov, an Islamic extremist who killed eight people using a truck in 2017, began the phase for determining the death penalty.
