Venissa Maldonado arrested for dumping newborn baby boy inside a Chevron gas station restroom in Fullerton
Police officers who responded to the call discovered the sobbing baby inside the trash can.

Venissa Maldonado, aged 25, was taken into custody for attempted murder and felony child abuse following the discovery of her newborn in a Chevron gas station restroom on Thursday.
Detectives are yet to determine whether she gave birth inside the restroom.
One of the gas station workers contacted 911, and responding officers discovered the crying infant inside a trash can.
The Fire Department was promptly summoned and administered life-saving procedures.
The newborn was taken to a hospital, where he is currently in critical but stable condition, as stated by Sgt. Ryan O’Neil to FOX3.
Police executed a search warrant at around 1:45 am on Friday at a Fullerton apartment where Venissa was apprehended.
California has a Safely Surrendered Baby Law, which grants parents the freedom to leave newborns at designated locations within 72 hours of delivery without fear of prosecution.
