Verity Beck accused of shooting her parents in their heads and dismembering their bodies with a chainsaw

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (Jan. 18, 2023)—Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Abington Township Police Chief Patrick Molloy announce an investigation and charges in a double homicide that occurred in a home on the 1100 block of Beverly Road in Abington.

On January 17, 2023 at 10:30 PM, Abington Police were called to a home in the 1100 block of Beverly Rd. in the Jenkintown section of Abington Township to check the well-being of the residents. The call was made by a family member who had not seen or heard from the elderly couple in more than a week. After eventually entering the home, officers encountered the couple’s adult daughter inside.

Officers observed one deceased person tightly wrapped in a white bed sheet, and evidence of a second deceased person inside the home. There were signs of extreme trauma present. The daughter, Verity Beck (49) was taken into custody.

A subsequent search of the home uncovered the bodies of a 73-year-old male and a 72-year-old female. A chain saw was located near one of the bodies, and both individuals were in various stages of dismemberment.

Several firearms were recovered from the home as well. The bodies were transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office, where it was determined that both individuals were victims of a gunshot wound to the head and the cause of death was ruled a homicide.

The couple’s daughter, Verity Beck, who also resided in the home is charged with first-degree and third-degree murder. Those charged with first degree murder are not eligible for bail and the defendant will be held at Montgomery County Correctional Facility.
