Attorneys for Marshawn Lynch say their client “was not pulled over for a DUI” and that “the vehicle was safely parked and not in operation.

Earlier this week, as Marshawn Lynch was being arrested for DUI, fresh police footage indicates that he was forcibly shoved to the ground and dragged out of his car by the hood of his sweatshirt.

In the video, which was shot immediately after police began interviewing Lynch on August 9 in Las Vegas, he can be seen leaning back in the driver’s seat of a 2020 Shelby GT500, seemingly uncooperative with officers who were asking him to exit the vehicle.

The officers can be heard in the video telling Lynch multiple times to step out of the car; nevertheless, Lynch continues to refuse and asks repeatedly why he is being forced to exit the vehicle.

After authorities informed him that he was “obstructing an investigation,” one of the officers grabbed him by his orange sweatshirt.

The officer then tackled the former running back for the Seattle Seahawks and threw him to the ground before telling him, “Roll over. Put both of your hands behind your back. There will be no more games today.”

The footage then shows officers stating that guy reeked of alcohol.

In police papers, they say that when they brought Lynch back to the station, he wouldn’t cooperate and that they “had to use a restraint chair” to get his blood after getting a search warrant.

Lynch was eventually arrested on a number of charges, one of which was DUI. In December, he will have to go to court to talk about what happened.

Richard A. Schonfeld and David Z. Chesnoff, the 36-year-attorneys, old’s issued a statement on the situation Thursday afternoon, stating, “Marshawn was not stopped for drunk driving. Instead, the car was securely parked and not in use. We are certain that when all of the information is provided, this will not constitute a DUI in accordance with Nevada law. Marshawn values and is appreciative of everyone’s attention and support.”
