A single-engine airplane crash-landed on the Riverside (91) Freeway in Corona, triggering a fire from which the occupants of the aircraft escaped uninjured.
The two occupants of a single-engine plane that made a crash landing in Corona on the 91 Freeway were able to escape without injury, according to authorities.
Just after 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the California Highway Patrol received reports of a plane crash.
It was recorded in the CHP incident log that the incident took place along the eastbound lanes of Lincoln Avenue.
According to the CHP, two persons who were aboard the aircraft managed to get away unharmed.
It is not known if any automobiles were involved in the collision that occurred.
It was claimed that the plane was completely engulfed in flames, but the firefighters had already taken the initiative.
It is not known what caused the crash to occur.
As the officials work to clear the scene, motorists in the vicinity are being asked to find an other route.
In the meantime, a statement like the one below was released by the Federal Aviation Administration:
“An unidentified small plane landed on the eastbound 91 Freeway near Interstate 15 in Corona, Calif., around 12:30 local time today. Two people were on board. The FAA will investigate. The agency does not identify people involved in aircraft accidents or incidents.”
