As a result of a grassfire that is burning near the bottom of the Ogden Canyon, residents of Weber County are being evacuated.
Officials with the Ogden Fire Department indicated that approximately 25 residences were being evacuated, but there were no reports of any structures having caught fire.
On Tuesday afternoon, at 4 o’clock, fire authorities were en route to the blaze in Ogden.
The blaze may be seen from Harrison Boulevard and 12th Street to the east. The firefighters on the scene described how quickly the fire was spreading.
Valley Drive, which is located next to El Monte Golf Course, was reportedly closed while firefighters battled the flames, as stated by the relevant authorities.
The cause of the fire was still being investigated.
