Who was Florind Belliu and how he ended his life?

The man who plunged from Bronx building to his death, along with his wife Ornela Shehi, was aspiring actor and screenwriter Florind Belliu from Albania, neighbors and friends of the tragic couple said Sunday.

After graduating from the Academy of Arts, Florind Belliu attempted to participate in a number of cinema productions and episodic parts at the national theater.

A few years ago, he moved to the United States with his wife, Ornela. There, they tried to start over.

Florind worked as a real estate agent in the US for a while.

In an interview he gave two years ago, he stated that he had begun writing two books, one of which he planned to submit to Netflix as a movie script.

The 35-year-old actor and his wife allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of their New York City apartment building.

Police sources reported that Florind Belliu, 35, and his wife, Ornela Shehi, 28, were discovered in the rear courtyard of 2199 Cruger Avenue around 9:15 a.m. on Saturday.

Shehi was captured on film falling from the sixth storey of the building and striking the alleyway before Belliu landed seconds later, according to reports. The circumstances surrounding the fatalities were unknown, according to the police.

Florind is thought to have pushed his wife Ornela out the balcony before jumping from the sixth storey of the building.

According to sources, he may have lately worked as a livery driver.

In an emotional Instagram post, fellow Albanian actor Cela Irgen expressed his condolences for the passing of his friend.

Irgen wrote on the site in Albanian, “You broke my heart, my dear friend.”

The couple had recently moved to New York’s “The Bronx” neighborhood with their two young children, ages 6 and 2.

Belliu was said to be “emotionally disturbed” and missing in April, but sources say that police found him in the 48th Precinct.

The couple was described by their neighbors as a “quiet couple” who “kept to themselves” and was often seen going for walks.

The authorities are looking into every avenue, including a double homicide.
