2 shot, one detained in shooting near the food court area at Wolfchase Mall
Police ask public to please stay out of the area.
At Wolfchase Galleria, two individuals were shot and the Memphis Police Department received a call to respond to the incident shortly before 5 p.m. on Thursday.
The two victims of the shooting were discovered, with one being urgently transported to the hospital due to their critical condition, while the other was taken to the hospital in a non-critical condition via a private vehicle.
In addition, a third individual was also taken to the hospital as a result of a medical problem.
According to the police, the shooting is thought to have originated from a dispute between two groups.
The authorities have apprehended one man, and the area is now safe. It is not known whether the suspect and the victim had a prior relationship.
The mall employees and customers reported being instructed to leave the premises because of the shooting. Some shoppers claimed to have heard over 10 gunshots fired.
